So You Think You're a Collector? - Donruss Edition

Since I had so much fun torturing all you collectors with your knowledge of Bowman base cards, I thought this time I’d unleash Donruss on the masses. I am in the process of sorting and organizing my Donruss cards, and while it is not giving me fits like Bowman did, I am still left puzzled (bad pun intended) on some of the years.

During the last quiz, Nick came achingly close to matching all of the Bowman base cards with their release years. I think he switched up 1996 and 1997, but regardless, that was a great showing on Nick’s part.

As for the Donruss quiz, I had to use the digital eraser on almost every example because Donruss had the habit of putting the year on most of its releases. I expect a lot better scores on this quiz because most of us are pretty familiar with Donruss. However, I imagine that there is going to be some mix up with 82 and 83 Donruss, and then all out chaos from 1994 to 2005.

So sharpen your pencils, dust of your erasers and grab some scratch paper because it’s quiz time. Your task is to put the cards in order by year WITHOUT consulting the internet.  Your answer will be a string of letters starting with 1981's letter and ending with 2005's letter.  Winner gets bragging rights as a true Donruss Collector...

This is a fantastic idea for a running series of posts. I'd fare much better at these if it were just putting cards in order between the years 1975 and 1990!

I might've messed up a few of those '90s sets. Donruss tends to blend together to me during that era.

I got it through '93 and then...nothing.

I agree with Jim, this is a great series. Keep it going!
